Changing Stellar Cyber Platform IP Addresses
This topic describes how to change the IP addresses of the nodes in a Stellar Cyber Platform cluster, including the cluster interface and the management interface.
Changing a node's IP address disconnects your remote session. Make sure you have console access to the DP before you begin.
Changing Cluster Interface IP Addresses
If your DP cluster uses the cluster interface, use the following commands to change the IP addresses. Run them on each node, and replace the values in angle brackets with your new IP addresses. The new DL cluster IP address can be the same as the new Configuration Manager (CM) IP address.
For a data lake (DL) cluster, on the DL master:
set interface cluster ip <new DL cluster IP>/<bitmask> set cm <new CM IP> set master <new DL cluster IP> reset
On each DL worker:
set interface cluster ip <new DL cluster IP>/<bitmask> set cm <new DL cluster IP> set master <new DL cluster IP> reset
For a data analyzer (DA) cluster, on the DA master:
set interface cluster ip <new DA cluster IP>/<bitmask> set cm <new DL cluster IP> set master <new DA cluster IP> reset
On each DA worker:
set interface cluster ip <new DA cluster IP>/<bitmask> set cm <new CM IP> set master <new DA cluster IP> reset
Change Master IP Address of Cluster
After you run these commands, change the master IP address of the cluster in the user interface:
- Click Configure | Data Processor | Resources.
- Change the master IP address of the cluster.
After the Configuration Manager comes up, the old master IP address overwrites the new one. Change the master IP address in the user interface as described above.
Changing Management Interface IP Addresses
To change the management interface settings, use the following CLI commands:
| Command | Description |
|---|---|
set interface management ip x.x.x.x/<bitmask>
|
Sets the management IP address. |
set interface management gateway y.y.y.y
|
Sets the management gateway. |
add dns 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4
|
Adds DNS servers. The IP addresses shown are examples. |
delete dns 1.1.1.1
|
Deletes a DNS server. The IP address shown is an example. |
Updating Other Settings After the Change
- If you changed the DA master's IP address, update the Receiver IP address in the user interface. The Receiver IP address is the same as the DA master's management IP address.
- If you changed the DL master's IP address and the DP uses a server certificate that identifies the DP by IP address instead of by hostname or FQDN, you might need to update the certificate.
