Removing Tenants (<4.3.5)

To completely remove a tenant, you must consider all the Stellar Cyber objects they own, such as charts, reports, dashboards, connectors, and so on, need removal at the same time. Certain items must be manually disabled or cleared before you can remove the tenant. Use the procedure in this topic as a guide.

  1. Unauthorize tenant sensors.
  2. Clear the tenant database.
  3. Remove tenant users.
  4. Delete the tenant from tenant groups.
  5. Remove associated tenant objects.
  6. Delete the tenant.

Unauthorizing Tenant Sensors

You must unauthorize any sensors sending data to the DP for the tenant:

  2. To narrow down the list to only sensors assigned to a single tenant, click the Tenant drop-down at the top-right of the screen and select the tenant.

  3. Click the MANAGE drop-down.

  4. Click AUTHORIZATION. The AUTHORIZE DATA SENSORS screen appears.

  5. Click Unauthorize. The screen changes to display the authorized sensors you can unauthorize.

  7. Click the Add arrow. The sensors are added to the Selected Sensors list.

    1. Click the button to delete the corresponding user. The user is immediately deleted.
    2. Repeat until all of the tenant's users are deleted.
  4. To assign the users to different tenants:

    2. Choose a different tenant from the Tenant drop-down.
    3. Click Submit.
    4. Repeat until all of the tenant's users are reassigned.

Deleting Tenants from Tenant Groups

If the tenant was a member of a tenant group, you must remove it from that group:

  1. Click System | Administration | Tenant Groups. The table of tenant groups appears.

  2. Click next to the tenant in the Added Members list to immediately delete it from the group.

Removing Associated Tenant Objects

Before you delete the tenant, make sure you remove any of the objects belonging to the tenant in the procedure below. This way, Stellar Cyber won't generate an error message regarding custom objects remaining when you delete the tenant in the next section:

  1. Navigate to Visualize | Dashboards and delete any dashboards belonging to the tenant to be deleted. If you want to keep the settings of a tenant-assigned dashboard, you can open the dashboard and use the Export | Export as Configuration feature to save the dashboard's settings with a tenant assignment of All Tenants before deleting the tenant's version.

  2. Navigate to Visualize | Charts and delete any charts belonging to the tenant to be deleted. You can sort the list by Tenant name to make it easy to see all charts belonging to the tenant.

  3. Each of the entries in the System | Configuration menu can include custom objects belonging to the tenant to be delete. Go to each of the following pages, sort the resulting table by Tenant name, and delete all listed objects belonging to the tenant to be deleted:

    • System | Configuration | Queries

    • System | Configuration | Recipients

    • System | Configuration | Saved Scripts

    • System | Configuration | Tags

    • System | Configuration | Lookups

Deleting Tenants

After all users are removed, and the tenant is not in any tenant groups, you can delete the tenant:

  1. Click System | Administration | Tenants. The table of tenants appears.

  2. Click to delete the tenant. The tenant is immediately deleted.
